The 24th Annual Stellar Awards Nominations

The Stellar Awards, the Gospel version of the GRAMMY Awards, recently announced its most recent nominees during a "first time ever" joint live broadcast of the 24th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards Press Conference which aired on Tuesday, October 21st. Nominations were revealed with recognitions in a variety of inspirational categories, one being Instrumental Music. This year's nominees in the Instrumental CD of the Year category include some mainstays as well as some impressive newcomers.

Angélla Christie, known as Gospel music's most popular saxophonist, makes the list with her latest electrifying effort, The Breath of Life. No stranger to award nominations, piano virtuoso Barry D. picked up a nomination for his new project, Born To Play. Courtney Nero, a member of the world-renowned horn section Mo' Horns, steps out on his own with Make Me Walk, netting the saxophonist a nod. D.C. natives Esther Williams & Davey Yarborough are well-known in the world of Jazz and caught the attention of the Stellar Awards for their thrilling CD, In The Spirit. Rounding out the nominees in the category is Radio One Executive and harpist Jeff Majors with Sacred Major 7th.

JGC would also like to congratulate RichEscape Music recording artist, Terrell Hunt , for his Stellar nominations in the New Artist of Year and Fan Favorite categories for his Praise and Worship hit CD, Awesome. The 24th Annual Stellar Awards will be handed out on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry. See you there!
